Boutique Showcases New Brand Through Game Play Demonstrations and Screenings of Huntik Animated Series

Upper Deck is pleased to announce that Toys“R”Us Times Square is currently hosting a boutique dedicated to the new Huntik Trading Card Game (TCG), based on the Huntik: Secrets & Seekers animated, action-adventure series. Huntik series recently debuted on the CW4Kids Network to high praise, and the trading card game brings the excitement of the TV series to the table top.

Located prominently on Level Two of Toys“R”Us Times Square, the Huntik TCG boutique is the perfect place to learn about this new brand and offers customers the opportunity to learn about the game and watch an episode of Huntik TV show. For those interested in receiving detailed information about Huntik game play, the boutique is staffed by Toys“R”Us Huntik specialists who can challenge players to a Huntik "battle" or answer questions about the Huntik brand.

“As a new property, we are honored that Toys“R”Us Times Square has opened its doors to Huntik,” said Erika Conway, brand manager for Huntik at Upper Deck. “Huntik: Secrets & Seekers has all the makings of the next big action-adventure brand, and the Toys“R”Us boutique is a great way for fans to receive an introduction to this new property.”

In addition to the Toys“R”Us Times Square boutique, the Huntik TCG is available at Toys“R”Us stores, hobby stores and retailers throughout North America. Launched on February 17th, the Huntik TCG has already attracted a following with gaming fans and the Huntik TCG Sneak Previews drew thousands of players around the country. Upper Deck will soon launch a complete Organized Play program for this exciting new game.

Magic, mystery, mythology and adventure come together in Huntik: Secrets & Seekers. In Huntik animated series, young Lok Lambert and Dante Vale travel the globe with their group of amazing Seekers, exploring exotic locations from the pyramids of Egypt to the jungles of the Amazon, seeking to unlock the ancient secrets of each locale. Lok and his friends search for powerful spirit-warriors called Titans to use in battle against the evil Organization. Dante, Lok and the Seekers battle the Organization and its sinister mastermind, The Professor, for the fate of the world.

The Huntik TCG lets players direct their own Seekers and mighty Titans to complete missions by using amazing powers and engaging strategy. Plus, one in every three Huntik Trading Card Game card packs includes Huntik passwords that unlocks Titans and other great content on the Huntik website.

The Huntik Trading Card Game will be available in a two-player Starter Set and in nine-card booster packs. Each booster pack will include one foil card, and one in every three packs will feature Huntik codes that unlocks even more adventure at Huntik.com. The 159-card booster set also includes Huntik Super Rare Cards and Huntik Ultra Rare cards. The two-player Starter Set offers a bonus DVD with a full Huntik episode and a trivia Huntik game; two themed decks, Foundation and Organization; a Seeker Training Guide; a game mat with quick start guide; and 21-card Mission pack.

Huntik is an Italian animated TV series created by Iginio Straffi of Rainbow S.p.A., as a co-production with Big Bocca Productions (an Irish entertainment production and licensing company owned by Richard McWilliam, CEO and owner of The Upper Deck Company, LLC and Rainbow S.p.A.).

Huntik made its debut at the MIPCOM show in Cannes, and premiered January 3, 2009 in the U.S. on The CW4Kids. Created and directed by legendary Italian animator Iginio Straffi (who also created The Winx Club and Monster Allergies), Huntik was awarded as best cartoon for entertainment and business opportunities at MIPJunior, a leading international exhibition dedicated to children's tv programmes.

Huntik TV series was broadcast in Italy on Rai 2 and in foreign channels including the The CW4Kids (United States), Disney XD -previously Jetix- (UK & Ireland), MTV3 (Finland), Rede Record (Brazil), Jetix / Disney XD (Netherlands), Childern Channel (Israel), RTL II (Germany), ZAZ (Mexico), Network Ten (Australia), TV Tokyo (Japan), South Africa, Singapore, Greece, Austria, Portugal and the Philippines.

Huntik trading card game, produced by Upper Deck Entertainment, was released in 2009 in Starter decks and booster packs. A line of Huntik action figures has also been released by Upper Deck.
